Sensory Audits

Audit Checklist and Inspection Tools.png

Our Sensory Audit is a comprehensive,12 page report designed to evaluate and enhance the sensory accessibility of hospitality environments. With a focus on inclusion and comfort for individuals with sensory processing differences, each audit highlights both the strengths and areas for improvement across key environmental features.

We assess three selected guest rooms at your hotel using an occupational therapy-informed framework, examining sensory factors such as:

  • Lighting and visual stimuli

  • Acoustic environment and noise control

  • Texture and tactile input

  • Scent and air quality

  • Opportunities for regulation and rest

Each report includes:

  • A room-by-room analysis

  • Visual documentation

The goal is to equip hospitality partners with clear, actionable steps to make their spaces more inclusive, welcoming, and competitive in today’s accessibility-conscious market.

Environmental Design
Recommendations

Following each Sensory Audit, we provide a detailed Environmental Design Recommendation Report tailored to your hotel or hospitality space. This document outlines specific, actionable changes to enhance sensory inclusion, grounded in evidence-based occupational therapy principles and universal design.

Each recommendation includes:

  • Targeted areas for improvement (e.g., lighting, acoustics, scent control, spatial layout)

  • Clear rationale for how each change supports sensory needs

  • Estimated costs and effort level to support practical implementation

  • Prioritized suggestions based on impact and feasibility

Once changes are implemented, we conduct a follow-up assessment to ensure all modifications meet Sensory Bridge standards for sensory-friendly design. Our goal is to support long-term, sustainable inclusion practices that improve guest satisfaction and promote a welcoming environment for all.
